Dr. Jay Sheintop (he/him), often known as Dr. Jay, earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University in 2017 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. He completed a small animal rotating internship at Tufts’ referral hospital and has since practiced throughout New York City in general practice, urgent care, and emergency settings, with particular interests in emergency medicine and cardiology.

As a queer veterinarian, Dr. Jay is committed to providing a welcoming, judgment-free space for all clients and believes strongly in transparency and shared decision-making—never recommending services that aren’t truly needed. He has loved caring for the clients and pets at Symphony Veterinary Center and is happy to be a permanent per diem member of the team. Outside of work, he shares his home with Lassi, a feisty parvo-survivor terrier, and Thor, a laid-back asthmatic cat; despite their differences, the whole family reliably unites for quiet nights on the couch when Real Housewives is on.
