Jillian Tapper McCarthy
LVT, Hospital Manager

Jillian comes to Symphony Veterinary Center after managing an emergency critical care hospital in Michigan for almost 10 years and a specialty hospital in Connecticut for two years. She obtained her license in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College in Florida and is a published author. Before working in the veterinary field she spent many years as a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Currently, she is working on her CVPM and PHR to further her skills as a hospital manager. She lives Connecticut with her husband Kenny and their Golden Retriever Jasper. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, gardening and cooking.

Kristi Collom at Symphony Veterinary Center.

Kristi has been assisting at Symphony as a CSR for many years. She is a New York native who lives in Brooklyn and helps with our kitten adoption program and in her free time studies dolphin calls.

Jacindaly (Cindy)

Jacindaly Guzman at Symphony Veterinary Center.Cindy was born and raised in the Bronx where she currently lives with her husband, four kids, one cat, one turtle and seven fish. She has always loved to help and care for animals in need and feels at home caring for the clients and their pets at Symphony.

Juan Aguirre at Symphony Veterinary Center.

Juan has worked in the veterinary field for the last 25 years in New York City. He earned his doctoral veterinary degree in Ecuador and worked there briefly before settling back in NYC.


Maria Pena at Symphony Veterinary Center.

Maria was born in Colombia and has loved animals as long as she can remember. She began work at the age of 16, in a veterinary office. She has a beautiful German Shepherd and a small Shih Tzu mix. She is working on getting her veterinary technician’s license. In her free time she loves to run and read.


Jillian Burke at Symphony Veterinary CenterJillian began working in the veterinary field 12 years ago.  She is a native of Staten Island where she still resides with her husband, a Boston Terrier named Murphy and her cats Marmalade and Sassafras.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 2016 and is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages.  Her interests include hiking, skiing, reading, beach fishing and spending time with family.

Veterinary Assistant
Anya is a true New Yorker with a passion for animals big and small. She has volunteered at several medical facilities, including MSKCC and AMC. She has had a series of great cats, but hopes for a dog in the future. She started at Symphony as a volunteer, and is now happy to be part of the team!

Veterinary Assistant
Mike is a native New Yorker who was born and still lives in Queens. After retiring from Law Enforcement his love of animals brought him to the veterinary field were he worked at several other NYC hospitals before joining the team at Symphony. He recently lost his 16 year old Rottweiler named Princess. Outside of work he enjoys playing basketball and watching movies along with spending time with his wife Jennifer and his six kids.

Veterinary Assistant
Lindsey was born in the Bronx and raised in Westchester County were she currently lives with 1 year old son and two cats ad a German Shepherd mix. She graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh North Carolina with a degree in Animal Science. Her interest is in Laboratory Animal Science.


Kenia  Castellanos at Symphony Veterinary Center.

Veterinary Assistant
Kenia was born in Queens, NY, lived in Brooklyn for most of her life until she moved to Orange County, NY. After years in animal rescue, she knew that she wanted to work with animals and decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She has worked at several other hospitals and currently completing the vet tech/pre-vet program with the goal of specializing in exotics or feline behavior. She currently has several cats, a rabbit, bearded dragon, along with several fosters including guinea pigs, dogs, reptiles and birds. Her interest include veterinary medicine, exotics/wildlife, behavior, nutrition, animal rescue and running.

Veterinary Assistant
Julio was born and grew up in a rural farming area of Bayamon, Puerto Rico surrounded by chickens, goats, cows and dogs. His start in veterinary medicine began when he took a job at ACC as a kennel assistant were he worked his way up to learning a assisting in each of the departments. He joined Symphony in July 2017 and works both the front desk and as a veterinary assistant in the treatment area. He lives in Brooklyn with his three year old poodle, Mr. Royal and in his free time enjoys Muay Thai, MMA and cooking shows.
