Jean Parker - Reception

Jean hails originally from Montgomery, Alabama, and has worked in the past as a veterinary receptionist and assistant. She has a B.F.A. in Dramatic Arts from the University of South Alabama, which serves her well at our front desk. Sometimes it's a little too dramatic up there. Her dog is named Muggles, who is the coolest dog in the world according to his owner.  She loves New York but she does miss good southern food.

Gus Iverson - Reception

Gus Iversen is a domesticated mix breed, of vaguely european descent. He was born and raised in San Francisco and has inexplicably established himself in New York as a jack of all trades. He thanks you for holding.

Alicia Petty - Reception

Although Alicia is not from Manhattan, she considers herself practically a native of the Upper West Side as she has worked for a local doggy day care center and now at Symphony Vet Center. She is pretty familiar with many of the dogs and their owners in the area and always tries to remember every furry face (and name) she comes across as well as his or her human counterpart! You can rest assured that Alicia will try her very hardest to make sure your visit runs as smoothly as possible.

Kara Nygaard - Veterinary Assistant/Reception

Kara is a San Francisco transplant here in New York, still adjusting to the fast paced life of Manhattan. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with an MPH focusing on infectious diseases. She is pet-less at the moment, having recently lost her dear Boxer and catbut her dream is to one day own and live on a farm teeming with animals big and small.

Kathrin Martens - Reception

Kathrin holds a bachelors degree from the University of Dayton. She spent five years as an office manager in the family business... a funeral home. Kathrin adores all of the furry creatures she sees everyday at the office and the one she sees at home, her Toy Fox Terrier, Rosie.

Stinky - Cat

Stinky is Symphony Vet Center's resident cat. She loves to be petted and she'll hook her claw into your pants hem if you try to walk away before she has gotten her fill. Due to a car accident when she was a kitten, Stinky is partially paralyzed and incontinent (thus the name Stinky), but she is surprisingly agile and able to get around. Despite being on permanent medication, she couldn't be happier living as our hospital cat.
